The operation should be entirely patient-specific. Particularly in nasal surgery, you should consult a plastic surgeon adopting holistic esthetic approach to face, who can correct nasal functional structure.

Things to consider before surgery

Before the operation, the patient should inform the surgeon and anesthesiologist who will perform the surgery about all details about his/her existing medications and general health status. Before the operation, s/he must notify his/her surgeon of upper respiratory tract infections, fever, cough, sore throat, abdominal pain, flu, cold, cold sores s/he might have. Stop taking blood thinner medications, herbal teas, fish oil and avoid any special herbal cure applications 1 week before surgery. The operation is scheduled regardless of the menstrual period of female patients.

After nasal tip plasty

Issues to consider after nasal tip plasty and the recovery process

Nasal tip plasty is a slightly easier operation with a shorter recovery period, compared to other nasal operations. The patient can resume daily activities in a very short time.
You're advised to use a nasal spray to clean and moisturize the inside of the nose after a tip plasty. With cold compresses to be applied, swelling begins to subside rapidly within 2 days. After the 7th day, the person can easily resume his/her business activities. Loss of sensation in nose might persist for another 1 or 2 months. Rapid recovery is achieved in the first 3 months and full recovery is achieved in 6 to 12 months.

Price of nasal tip plasty

The price of nasal tip plasty will primarily vary depending on whether or not the patient's nose structure is suitable for this surgery, whether or not s/he has any intranasal deviations, and whether or not s/he has undergone previous nasal surgery.

What are the risks of nasal tip plasty?

Unlike rhinoplasty, which involves intervention to nasal bone, tip plasty does not break nasal bone. Therefore, tip plasty is an operation with an easier course of recovery and a lower risk of edema, bruising and bleeding.

Frequently asked questions about nasal tip plasty

Who can have nasal tip plasty?

Patients with a smooth nasal ridge, who do not have an enlarged nasal bone region and who have a drooping or enlarged nasal tip can have nasal tip plasty.

What is the age limit for nasal tip plasty?

The development of the nose is completed earlier in females than in males. In males, nose continues to grow until the age of 18, while in girls, nose usually stops growing at the age of 16. Older people have no contraindication to a cosmetic nose surgery.

Is it possible to perform concha and nasal obstruction operations concomitantly with nasal tip plasty?

What are the non-surgical rhinoplasty methods?

Filling

The majority of procedures performed without a surgical intervention to the nose refers to injection of filling materials. Filling materials which are used to deliver volume, such as hyaluronic acid, are injected into the nasal region by appropriate techniques. Thus, nasal cavities, recesses, contour deficiencies and asymmetries are temporarily treated. Filling procedure should be repeated at certain time intervals.

Nose tip botox

This procedure involves intramuscular administration of botox to the tip of the nose where the nose is joined to the lip. In this method, as the muscle relaxes with the effect of botox, a certain amount of increase is provided at the tip of the nose.

Lifting nose tip using thread

It is a procedure applied with sutures used in surgeries. As with other applications, it provides long-term permanence.

What is nose filing?

Nose filing is a method used to reduce the height of the nasal ridge, usually in the case of aquiline noses. Using the file used during nasal esthetic operations, the dorsal height of the nose is brought down to the desired level.

I have sinusitis, can I have nasal tip plasty?

Sinusitis patients do not have any contraindication to nasal tip plasty.

Will there be any scar left after tip plasty?

In the open technique used in rhinoplasty, a small incision is made between the nostrils so it is likely that an unnoticeable scar is left in this part of the nose. As wound healing varies from person to person, this scar may fade away completely in some people and is noticeable, albeit slightly in the others.

How long does the swelling and bruises take to heal after the surgery?

Swelling and bruises which were extensive in former techniques in cosmetic nose operations are much less common nowadays thanks to the techniques used today. Precautions taken during surgery, operations performed without the use of tampons, post-operative cooling masks are very effective methods for preventing or minimizing swelling and bruising. Any swelling and bruises that may occur depending on the tissue structure of the patient and whether they are allergic or not despite all precautions taken completely resolve after a maximum period of 1 week-10 days.

Does nasal tip plasty cause loss of sense of smell?

The operation site is far from the part where the nose performs its smell function. In other words, no interventions, including incisions, etc., are made in that area so this operation does not affect the function of smell.
